The Conjuring is a movie based off of one of Ed and Lorraine Warren’s famous paranormal investigations. We had an opportunity to visit the actual farm house that was purportedly haunted and investigated by the Warrens in the 1970s. Today, you’ll recognize the Conjuring name from a series of hit movies based on the same subject.

Location History
As it is known today, The Farm on Round Top Road, was purchased by the Perron family in 1971. The parents and their 5 daughters noticed many things amiss in the quiet farmhouse. Things would move around, they’d hear sounds, and the children would speak of spirits. The history of the home was dark and sordid. Research uncovered the home had experienced many deaths as well as housed a woman named Bathsheba, who was a rumored satanist that was said to be involved in a child’s death.
The Warrens were a famed couple in the 1970s – Ed for being a demonologist and his wife Lorraine, for being clairvoyant. The couple made many visits to the home to help the family with their paranormal problem. During one visit, it is said the Perron Mom began to speak tongues and was thrown across the room during a seance in the library.
The family lived in the home for about 10 years before being able to financially afford to move.
Our Experience
I came across an ad from Ghost Hunts USA with tickets to experience the famous haunted house. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity so I readied the team and off we went on a road trip from NC to RI.
The farm is located off a peaceful country road and you know you’ve arrived by all of the No Trespassing signs. I can only imagine the number of unwanted guests that stop by given the fame of this house. The owner Cory was present and introduced himself and the house before handing the reins over to Ghost Hunt USA for the experience. Cory was basically living in a side room of the house, with his 2 german shepherds while leaving the main house open for daily tours. He said his wife and kids lived “back home” because they didn’t like being in the home. He also said he felt “compelled” to buy the property, much like other homeowners.
Cory had static cameras throughout the house and when I inquired if he captures paranormal evidence, he said that he used to be obsessed with watching the feeds but it took too much time. He didn’t offer up any footage of evidence if he had captured anything.
The home itself consisted of 3 upstairs bedrooms, 2 living rooms, a library, a kitchen, and dining room on the main floor, and a basement below. We set up static cameras in 2 of the bedrooms, the basement, and in the library. The library was the room where the famous Warren seance was supposed to have taken place and many of us took time for solo visits to the room.
There were probably 15 people there for the hunt so it was a bit crowded but we were able to successfully do some EVPs and spend time exploring all of the rooms. We pulled out all of the tricks – REM Pods, recorders, videos, mel meter, spirit box, thermal camera, and emf detectors. I can honestly say out of all of the places we’ve been, this felt the least haunted. There was nothing creepy, no strange smells or weird vibes. It was kind of a peaceful and relaxing night.
The strangest part of the evening was looking for the antenna for our 2nd REM pod. Three of us tore apart the kit it was supposed to be in and could not find it. Yet, at our next hunt, when I opened that case, the antenna was sitting right there on top staring at me. I can’t call that haunted but dang was it strange, especially considering how thoroughly we searched the case.
We also debunked some strange mosaic lights on the wall when we realized there was an old register built into the floor and people with flashlights downstairs were casting strange patterns on the wall.
While reviewing all of the static cameras, the last and final thing that jumped out at me was a small shadow on the basement floor. Yup – you got it. I caught a mouse on film.
Did we capture Paranormal Evidence?
Not even an inkling. The home was peaceful and serene. Not even a little bit creepy. We did not capture anything that would suggest the place is haunted.
